Who is the King of Pokemon ? Where to Get King’s Rock in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Who is the king of pokemon ? If you’re into the Pokémon Trading Card Game, you may have heard of the name Gary Haase. Known to many as “King Pokémon”, this 67-year-old father of three’s claim to fame is that his TCG collection is reportedly worth a cool $10 million – making it the most valuable collection of its kind in the world.

Haase is treated like a rockstar whenever he turns up at events and has celebrities all over the world approaching him in the hope that he will part with some of his collection.

It’s reported that Justin Bieber has been in touch, but Haase is famously reluctant to sell his goods (a recent exception was YouTuber Logan Paul, who purchased a PSA 10 first-edition Charizard card for $150,000 and then wore it ringside for his ‘boxing’ match with former champ Floyd Mayweather).

At a time when Pokémon TCG is hotter than ever and cards are changing hands for insane amounts of money, Haase is regarded as a legitimate celebrity himself (a recent meet-and-greet with him at the Collect-A-Con event in the US lasted for five hours – it was supposed to last one-and-a-half hours).

Haase’s profile means he’s a target for scorn as well as acclaim, of course, and recent comments he made during an interview have rubbed fans up the wrong way.

During the interview – taken from a show about finance, rather than Pokémon – Haase discussed one of his prized Charizard cards, in this case signed (on the protective case, not directly onto the card) by original artist Mitsuhiro Arita. Arita, in case you weren’t aware, has been involved with Pokémon TCG for decades and has created the artwork for hundreds of cards. Amongst fans, he’s revered and adored.

A Look At Calyrex’s Stats And Forms

Calyrex is a unique Pokemon that was introduced in Sword & Shield, with many overlooking the strange Psychic and Grass-type due to its odd appearance and gimmick.

Calyrex is fairly middling compared to other strong Pokemon when in its base form but gains a boost to its stats and effectiveness when it joins forces with its faithful steed.

Players will also have a choice in what mount Calyrex obtains, giving them a bit more control over what stats and type combination the Legendary creature gains.

Here’s a look at what Calyrex looks like in its base form and what happens when it joins forces with either Spectrier or Glastrier:

  • Calyrex’s Stats
  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 80
  • Special Attack: 80
  • Defense: 80
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 80
  • Total Base Stats: 500

When Calyrex joins together with Spectrier it gains the Shadow Rider form and drops its Grass typing in favor of Ghost to make it a dual-type Ghost and Psychic Legendary.

It also gains a combination of abilities, giving it access to Calyrex’s Unnerve, which keeps foes from eating berries, and Spectrier’s Grim Neigh, which will boost its Special Attack whenever it knocks out an opponent.

Shadow Rider Calyrex can benefit from the Timid nature, to help boost its Speed and can learn great moves like Giga Drain, Nasty Plot, Astral Barrage, and Psychic.

Clayrex (Shadow Rider)’s Stats

  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 85
  • Special Attack: 165
  • Defense: 80
  • Special Defense: 100
  • Speed: 150
  • Total Base Stats: 680

When Calyrex is paired with Gastrier, it swaps its Grass typing for Ice and combines to become a Psychic and Ice-type Legendary. It still has access to Calyrex’s Unnerve, but also gains Glastrier’s Chilling Neigh, which works just like Spectrier’s Grim Neigh but boosts its Attack stat instead of Special Attack whenever a Pokemon it’s facing is knocked out.

Locations where players can easily get King’s Leaves in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

King’s Leaves can be found in a few places, but the primary location is leaf piles located in Crimson Mirelands and Cobalt Coastlands. If players have any Pokemon break those up, a King’s Leaf will likely appear. They can also be found on the ground in those locations or the Alabaster Icelands.

King’s Leaves are also available for sale at Gingko Guild Shops. They cost 1000 Poke Dollars each.

Finally, they can be held by a few specific Pokemon in the wild. Decidueye, Typhlosion, Samurott, and Torterra each have a 15% chance of holding a King’s Leaf. Wormadam, Cherrim, and Lilligant each have a 30% chance of holding a King’s Leaf.

The uses of King’s Leaves explained

On their own, King’s Leaves do not do anything. In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, most items are meant to be crafted into other items, and this one is no exception. King’s Leaves are used to craft a variety of buffs and medicines.

To improve a Pokemon’s performance in a battle, an AUX Powerguard can be crafted to sharply increase both attack and defense. The Leaf also plays a part in crafting a Twice-Spiced Radish.

That item increases the power of a Pokemon’s moves by 50%. Both of these effects make a Pokemon more capable of winning a particular battle.

The King’s Leaf can also be used to craft a variety of healing items. The Max Elixir is the best item available for restoring a Pokemon’s PP, allowing them to do more moves.

The Max Potion can be used to fully restore the HP of a single Pokemon, making it an invaluable tool to keep creatures in battle. Finally, the King’s Leaf can be used to craft a Max Revive.

The Max Revive will fully restore a Pokemon who has fainted to consciousness and leave them at full health. All of these items are crucial to a run through the wilds or any difficult mission.

Through the use of this one item, the player can craft a wide variety of Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ most important items.

Where to Get King’s Rock in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The King’s Rock is a hold item you can give to your Pokemon. If the Pokemon holding it inflicts damage, the King’s Rock creates the chance for the target Pokemon to flinch. And while that’s all well and good, you likely want the King’s Rock to evolve Slowpoke into Slowking to complete your Pokedex.

Fortunately, there’s one easy way to get the King’s Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: you can purchase it from the Delibird Presents in Mesagoza for 10,000 Pokedollars.

Head to the South East Entrance to find the Mesagoza Delibird Present’s shop. The Delibird Present’s Shop will be right around the corner.

No one seems to have found a King’s Rock on the ground yet, though I theorize it’s likely a low spawn item near Casseroya Lake, as it’s a common spawn point for Slowpoke and Slowbro.

But despite a significant amount of time clicking on sparkles, I only have dozens upon dozens of feathers to show for the effort.

Good luck getting that Rock, Trainer! And if you’re curious if you can get a Politoed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you can! But you may need to make a real-world purchase before you get that frog for yourself.
