Farfetch’d is exclusively available in the wild in Pokémon Sword, not Pokémon Shield. If Shield players want to get one, they’ll have to trade from the game’s counterpart.
In Sword, Farfetch’d can be found on Route 5 or in the Wild Area (specifically in the Giant’s Mirror area during overcast weather). On Route 5, they will be between levels 19-21, and in the Wild Area they will range from levels 28-30.
Galarian Farfetch’d differs from its Kantonian form in that it is a Fighting-type rather than Normal/Flying-type, and Kantoian Farfetch’d still cannot evolve.
The new form is marginally slower too, but it makes up for this speed deficit with an equal increase to its attack stat, giving it a base attack of 95. Its normal ability is Steadfast, which boosts its speed each time it flinches.
Its hidden ability is Scrappy, which allows Normal and Fighting-type attacks to hit Ghost-type Pokémon, which would normally be unaffected by the attacks.
Farfetch’d can learn a wide array of moves from various types, although it tends to prefer Fighting, Normal and Flying-type moves. This is helpful given Farfetch’d’s high attack stat, which means its that most hard-hitting moves will be ones that generally make physical contact.
With this in mind, it is ideal for players to try to catch one with an Adamant nature, which increases the power of physical attacks at the expense of special ones, which Farfetch’d never learns naturally.

Sirfetch’d

Sirfetch’d retains its Fighting type and its ability. Where it differs drastically from its pre-evolution is its massive stat boosts. Sirfetch’d boasts a tremendous 135 base attack — to put that in perspective, the average fully-evolved Pokémon only has 90 — and an equal boost to its defense, bringing it up to a respectable 95.
It also learns more attacks, most notably the unique Fighting-type move Meteor Assault at level 70, which has a staggering 150 attack power. If you have the Isle of Armor DLC, you can also use the move tutor to teach it Grassy Glide and Coaching.
Overall, Sirfetch’d is a complete improvement on its pre-evolution. It increases all of its stats and can learn all the same moves with several new ones. The only reason players may want to stick with Farfetch’d instead of evolving it would be based on appearance.
How to Evolve Galarian Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d
The first step to getting is a Sirfetch’d is to catch a Galarian Farfetch’d. Fortunately, the Farfetch’d can both be found in the Wild and acquired from Pokemon GO’s 7km eggs. Once players have their Galarian Farfetch’d, they’ll need to make it their Buddy using Pokemon GO’s Buddy system.
With the Galarian Farfetch’d as their Buddy, players will next need to land 10 Excellent throws in order to unlock the Sirfetch’d evolution. This is the hardest kind of throw, and requires players to hit the smallest version of the circle when catching a Pokemon. Fortunately, players won’t need to do all 10 throws in a row, so it should only be a matter of time to get all 10.
To speed up the process, try and focus on Pokemon that have a larger base throwing circle, or are more sluggish in their movements. Feeding the target Pokemon a Nanab Berry will stop it from moving, making it much easier to catch on the next attempt.

Best Sirfetch’d Movesets in Pokemon GO
Like its unevolved form Galarian Farfetch’d, Sirfetch’d is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon. This means it’s resistant to Bug, Dark, and Rock, but weak to Fairy, Flying, and Psychic.
Its best Fighting moves are particularly strong against Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock, and Steel Pokemon, but less effective against Bug, Fairy, Flying, Poison, and Psychic-types. Meanwhile, Ghost-types are completely immune to Fighting moves.
To avoid over-specializing in Fighting, the best moveset for Sirfetch’d is the combination of Counter and Brave Bird, or Counter and Leaf Blade.
These sets add Flying and Grass-type damage into Sirfetch’d’s arsenal, allowing the Wild Duck Pokemon to deal with a wider range of potential adversaries.
The trick for evolving Galarian Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d
Galarian Farfetch’d evolves into Sirfetch’d after hitting three critical hits within the same battle. This can be accomplished at any level, with a level one Sirfetch’d technically being possible.
This can be annoying to pull off correctly. Galarian Farfetch’d will almost certainly knock out any Pokemon of a comparable level in two critical hits, sometimes even one. On the flipside, if a Galarian Farfetch’d comes across an opponent that can hypothetically tank three critical hits, it’s likely to die before landing them.
There is one method to effectively pull this off, however. Here are the steps:
Equip Galarian Farfetch’d with a Leek held item.
Teach Galarian Farfetch’d Focus Energy with TR13 and either keep or remind it of the move Rock Smash.
Go to the Rolling Fields section of the Wild Area, right outside the southern Meetup Spot.
Put Galarian Farfetch’d in the front of the party and find a Metapod in the tall grass
Use Focus Energy six times to allow Metapod to max out its defense stat. Use Rock Smash until three critical hits come through.
Metapod is the ideal opponent for this, as it has no offensive capabilities when found in the wild, meaning it cannot kill Farfetch’d. With its defenses maxed out, it can resist a number of Rock Smash hits from a comparably leveled opponent.
The only issue with Metapod is that it’s a relatively rare spawn and can be difficult to spot in the grass, but the good news is that it appears in the Rolling Fields area regardless of the weather.
The combination of the Leek item and Focus Energy greatly increases the chances of a critical hit for Farfetch’d. It’s easiest to do this with a Galarian Farfetch’d that’s of a lower level than the Wild Area’s Pokemon, but players can bring along an insurance policy in the form of a Pokemon with the move Heal Pulse.
Heal Pulse can be used to heal any Pokemon in a battle other than its user, including enemy Pokemon. This allows the player to keep the enemy Metapod alive to endure more Rock Smashes. Gallade, Gardevoir, the entire Slowpoke family, Blissey, and Lucario all learn Heal Pulse by leveling.
