What pokemon evolves with a shiny stone ? Pokemon Diamond & Pearl introduced new evolution stones and they return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Among them was the Shiny Stone, an item that is only used sparingly but is required to evolve one specific Pokemon.

There are more items used to evolve Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet than any other game in the series. That’s not even including the large number of Pokemon like Annihilape, which evolves by using a specific move.

That number is only going to increase in the future as regional variants like Galarian Slowpoke and Pokemon Legends: Arceus cross-generation evolutions like Kleavor get added to the game.

Whether it’s trading a Pokemon holding items like the Metal Coat or the tedious process of evolving a Charcadet, there are loads of evolution items to deal with. So how do players get a Shiny Stone and what do they do with it when the time comes?

Which Pokemon Evolve with a Shiny Stone?

Four different Pokemon are known to evolve with a Shiny Stone. Of those four, just one of them is available in the base version of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The full list of Pokemon that evolve by a Shiny Stone includes:

  • Togetic
  • Roselia
  • Minccino
  • Floette

Of these four, only Floette is included in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Though there are many different Pokemon that are programmed into Scarlet & Violet but are currently uncatchable without using mods, none of the other three are included in that lot.

It’s possible they may be added in the future through DLC or other updates, but it’s unclear when or if that may happen.

For the time being, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players can only use a Shiny Stone to evolve Floette into Florges. That said, players don’t even necessarily need a Shiny Stone in order to add the Pokemon to their Pokedex.

Florges can be found in the northern reaches of Paldea in the area surrounding Ortega’s Team Star base. It can also be encountered in five-star Tera Raid battles.

How to get a Shiny Stone in Pokemon Sword and Shield

The best way to grab a Shiny Stone is to head to the Lake of Outrage in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Wild Area. You can get here once you grab the Rotom Bike upgrade on Route 9 that lets you cross bodies of water.

Up and to the left is a pool with Gyarados and a Watt Trader on the shore. In the distance, you should see a little outcrop with some stones jutting out. Ride over there and under each stone base will be an evolutionary stone.

If you’re lucky, one of them will be a Shiny Stone. If not, they do respawn eventually.

Besides that, you can also head to Route 8 and climb the ladder nearby after your scrap with Doctor Joanna. The Shiny Stone will be at the end of this path!

Finding Shiny Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The first and most straightforward method of obtaining a Shiny Stone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is a Pokédex Progress Reward for catching Pokémon.

More specifically, once Trainers manage to catch a total of 150 pocket monsters during their adventure, they can receive a Shiny Stone as compensation for their efforts from Professor Jacq in the Biology Lab.

As noted above, catching Pokémon is the obvious action that players will constantly be doing while fulfilling objectives or exploring Paldea. Therefore, it is inevitable that they will eventually receive a Shiny Stone.

On the other hand, there might be Trainers who prefer to get their Shiny Stone faster instead of grinding out 150 catches in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

These players can head to South Province (Area Six) and explore the tall mountain northeast of Alfornada. According to Game8, if Trainers follow the winding path up the mountain, they will reach a large crater at the top filled with water.

Around the western rim of this spring, players will encounter a glowing Poké Ball node containing a Shiny Stone. To reach Alfornada, fans must follow a series of underground pathways that begin at a canyon cave entrance in the area across the river opposite Cortondo.

The third method to get a Shiny Stone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is by visiting the Auction House in Porto Marinada. PowerPyx claims that this auction-based shop can have a variety of Evolution Items for sale, including the Shiny Stone.

However, the schedule of its rotating stock changes every real-world, meaning that it could be several days or weeks before the Auction House offers this particular stone.

Nevertheless, after Trainers obtain their Shiny Stone, they can evolve the following Fairy-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet:
