What Pokemon Evolve with the Leaf Stone ? All Leaf Stone Evolution Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

What pokemon evolve with the leaf stone ? Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet can evolve from a long list of different items, but classics like the Leaf Stone still have their uses. Players can find the item and use it to add a powerful grass-type Pokemon to their team.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet made it much easier to get evolution items. While Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl made stones a precious commodity that could only be farmed in the Grand Underground, Paldea removes the fuss of evolution as players can both buy and find Leaf Stones during their playthrough.

Where to Find Leaf Stones in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Players can purchase Leaf Stones at Delibird Presents locations, including any of the three in Mesagoza. The item can also be found randomly on the ground in many spots around Paldea.

Players are able to reliably get a Leaf Stone for free, however. Players can head to the Tagtree Thicket near the Team Star Poison Crew base and search the cliffs in this area. A Leaf Stone can be found on the ground near the edge of a small cliff. The exact location on the map can be seen here:

That said, there’s only one Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet that can use the Leaf Stone to evolve. This Pokemon can still be caught in the wild, meaning that players can complete their Pokedex without ever bothering to get a Leaf Stone.

Which Pokemon Evolve with a Leaf Stone?

Seven Pokemon are known to evolve with a Leaf Stone, but only one is in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The only Pokemon that players can use a Leaf Stone on in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is Eevee, with the item evolving it into a Leafeon. The full list of Pokemon that have evolved via Leaf Stone includes:

  • Gloom
  • Weepinbell
  • Exeggcute
  • Eevee
  • Nuzleaf
  • Pansage
  • Hisuian Voltorb

The base version of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet only has Eevee among this list. Though Eevee needed to be leveled up in certain locations to become Leafeon in past generations, Pokemon Sword & Shield changed that, so players simply needed to give it a Leaf Stone. Players

Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode, who served as a boss in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, seem to be poised to come to the games at some point.

Alongside other Hisuian Pokemon such as Wyrdeer, Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode are both programmed into the games but are unavailable to be captured. The Pokemon will likely become available in the future via Pokemon HOME transfer, DLC, or in-game event.

Leaf Stone Evolution

Eevee was one of the first Pokemon ever to be introduced to the world back in the 1990s. Although hundreds of new Pokemon have been released since then, Eevee continues to be one of the most loved by the Pokemon community.

It’s no surprise that Eevee and its many evolutions make a return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Once you catch your very own Eevee, you can evolve it into its grass form, Leafeon, by using the Leaf Stone. This is the only way Eevee will evolve into this form, but you’ll need to make sure you do it before it reaches a friendship level of 160.

Otherwise, it will likely evolve into Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon depending on certain conditions at the time it reaches that level. Luckily, Eevee is relatively easy to find so if this happens, just catch another one and evolve it right away using the Leaf Stone.

Where To Find A Leaf Stone

The best way to get a Leaf Stone is to buy one at any Delibird shop. They will become available there once you have finished the Levincia Gym.

They cost 3,000 Poke Dollars to acquire, but you are guaranteed to get one, which is a nice benefit when compared to some of the other evolution stones you’ll need in the game.

You can also find them in grassy areas while exploring Paldea, with a higher chance of finding one in Tagtree Thicket. These come from random drops though, so you’ll have to get lucky if you try to get one this way.

Levincia Gym is one of the easier gyms to finish, so you can likely tackle it early in your game and pick up a Leaf Stone with less hassle than finding one in the wild.

All Leaf Stone Evolutions in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Collectors will be happy to know that there is only one Pokemon that evolves via a Leaf Stone in the Gen 9 games, meaning that you only need to go out of your way to secure a single Evolution Stone, making the process of catching ’em all a lot easier compared to the Water Stone, for example.

That’s right – just the one ‘mon. Easy peasy! This will inevitably change when Pokemon HOME integration goes live but regardless, this is the only Pokemon in the Paldean Pokedex that needs a Leaf Stone.

How to Get a Leaf Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The easiest way to get a Leaf Stone is to purchase it from Delibird Gifts in either Mesagoza, Levincia, or Cascarrafa for 3,000 Pokedollars or 3,000 League Points (LP). If you don’t have the coin or simply don’t want to pay that much, they spawn randomly across Paldea.

Interact with every sparkling spot on the ground and you’ll eventually find one. Tagtree Thicket seems to spawn them more than other areas so it’s a good idea to start your search there.
