What is the ugliest Pokemon? The 10 Ugliest Pokémon of All Time (Ranked)

What is the ugliest pokemon? There are over 1,000 Pokémon in the franchise, and while many are designed to be cute, some have faces only a mother could love. It may be a bit mean to say, but there is no denying that not all Pokémon have been blessed with cuteness.

While these Pokémon aren’t going to win any beauty contests, we can’t help but love them anyway!

The 10 Ugliest Pokémon of All Time

Choosing the ugliest Pokémon isn’t an easy task, but we’ve managed to find 10 that are truly hideous.

However, despite their questionable appearances, these Pokémon are still worth catching because they’re really cool.

If you’re ready to behold these fugly creatures, here’s our list of the 10 ugliest Pokémon of all time:

10. Drowzee

Kicking off our list, we have a Pokémon that perpetually looks like it’s smoked too much weed.

Drowzee is a psychic-type Pokémon who was introduced in Generation I, and ever since, he has been entertaining players.

This Pokémon is bipedal and resembles a tapir with tired-looking eyes and a short, floppy snout.

The upper half of Dowzee’s body is yellow, and the lower half is brown, save for its two-toed feet.

What makes this Pokémon special is that it can put people to sleep and sense their dreams so it can eat them.

Yes, this ugly Pokémon eats dreams, and it has a preference for fun dreams as it will become ill from eating nightmares.

This Pokémon even made the cut on the Creepy Pokémon Countdown of 2017 because it is so terrifying.

Drowzee rarely eats the dreams of adults, instead preferring to eat the dreams of children, which is a bit creepy.

It also eats dreams through people’s noses, so it will stand over a person while they’re sleeping, literally inches from their face.

Basically, this Pokémon is the franchise’s equivalent of a sleep paralysis demon, and we are so not here for it.

9. Feebas

Feebas is a water-type Pokémon that looks kind of like Spongebob’s parents if they were to be turned into fish.

While it has all the usual water-type weaknesses and resistances, this Pokémon is pretty shabby looking.

Introduced in Generation III, this Pokémon has a light brown body with dark spots that make it look a bit like a sad chocolate chip cookie.

Due to its depressing appearance, even predators tend to ignore this Pokémon, probably figuring it has a hard enough life as it is.

Even trainers and researchers tend to ignore Feebas because it is just so unremarkable and ugly.

Despite this, Feebas is incredibly hardy and capable of surviving anywhere and eating almost everything.

It can often be found even in areas with just a small amount of water, where its lack of intelligence makes it easy to catch.

However, despite its appearance, this Pokémon is able to undergo a glow-up that most of us could only hope for.

With a high enough beautiful condition, this Pokémon can evolve into Milotic, one of the most stunning Pokémon in the series.

Starting in Gen V, it could also evolve when traded while holding a Prism Scale, something that made this ugly boy very popular.

8. Weezing

Weezing is just plain ugly, and even evolving can’t help it look any more attractive.

A poison-type Pokémon, Weezing is made up of two connected heads, one larger than the other, with protruding teeth and dull expressions.

This Pokémon is covered in crater-like protrusions which constantly belch out foul yellow gasses.

Each head contains a different type of gas, and when they are mixed, they become even more putrid and toxic.

Yeah, all of this certainly doesn’t make this ugly Pokémon sound any more appealing than at first glance.

Weezings will seek out the filthiest place to call home, usually urban areas with abandoned, unkept houses, where they will nest.

These Pokémon also feed on dust, germs, and gases emitted by toxic waste and rotting garbage, which we suppose is better than the dreams of children.

In the Galar region, Weezing has evolved to absorb pollution from factors, and hat-like protrusions on their bodies release purified air.

However, poison gasses still float around the lower parts of the Galar Weezing’s heads, which can immobilize foes almost immediately.

This Pokémon evolves into Koffing at level 35, which does little to alter its appearance, though it does lose one of its heads.

7. Barbaracle

This dual-type rock/water Pokémon has a lot going on, and not in a good way.

Introduced in Generation VI, this bipedal Pokémon is made up of two rock slabs connected by a thin orange tube-like waist.

It has four long, lanky arms protruding from the bottom and top of the upper rock fragment, and its head also looks like a large hand.

Each of its limbs can move independently, and they each have an eye, sort of like the pale man from Pan’s Labyrinth.

Barbaracle isn’t so much ugly as he is confusing to look at, mainly because he’s just so awkwardly constructed.

While it isn’t as creepy as Drowzee, there is just something unsettling about the eyes on Barbaracle’s hands.

Oh, and did we mention that each limb also literally has a mind of its own? Yeah, that’s unsettling.

This Pokémon definitely isn’t going to be winning any beauty contests, especially compared to the best Dog Pokémon, who are simply adorable.

6. Gurrdurr

Gurrdurr is a fighting-type Pokémon who was introduced to players in Generation V, and, oh boy, he’s ugly.

The evolved form of Timburr, this Pokémon is bipedal with bulbous features, including bulging vein-like patterns across its grey skin.

It has a stocky build, with muscular arms and legs, and a bumpy head with a large, swollen red nose.

This Pokémon is usually seen carrying a giant I-beam which it uses for strength training to grow even more muscular.

Basically, Gurrdurr is the Pokémon equivalent of a jacked-up gym bro who grunts obnoxiously and boasts about his gains.

This Pokémon has even been known to brag about its muscles to Machoke, another muscular bro of a Pokémon.

That said, its workout routine definitely works, as even a team of pro wrestlers couldn’t move a Gurrdurr if they tried.

Regardless, it is still one of the ugliest Pokémon in the franchise, and it has definitely earned its place on our list.

5. Bruxish

Up next, we have one of the most garish-looking Pokémon that has ever appeared in the Pokémon franchise.

This water/psychic type may be one of the best fish Pokémon, but that doesn’t stop it from being god-awful to look at.

Not known to evolve into anything else, this fish Pokémon looks like a piranha that’s wearing too much makeup.

Bruxish has thick skin covered in very colorful scales, large pink eyes highlighted by thick blue lashes, and thick rosy lips.

It also has a bulbous protrusion on its head with a dark purple blob-like tip that can open like a flower.

This Pokémon buries itself in the silt of the seafloor, leaving only this bulb exposed, which it uses like radar to detect nearby prey.

With this bulb, it will also emit psychic energy that can cause those exposed to fall unconscious.

When using its psychic power, Buxish will grind its teeth, making a terrible sound that sends most Pokémon fleeing immediately.

Bruxish is more terrifying than Jaws could ever be, giving Pokémon fans just one more reason to stay out of the water.

4. Garbodor

This Pokémon is literally trash, and no, we are not just saying that to hurt its feelings.

Garbodor evolves from Trubbish at level 36, and it was introduced to players in Generation V.

What makes this Pokémon stand out is that it literally looks like trash that is spilling out of a torn trash bag.

It has a rotund body with blue and pink lumps, and its left arm is connected with bits of rebar while tubes protrude out of its right hand.

On top of its head are two tufts of trash that stick up from stalks like gross pigtails or pompoms.

Garbodor is capable of spewing poisonous gas from the tubes on its right hand, as well as toxic liquid that can kill weak foes instantly.

The Pokémon prefers to live in disgusting places such as trash dumps, where it consumes the garbage to grow larger.

This trash diet is also what allows Garbodor to create toxic gases inside of its body. The type of which depends on what it eats.

Despite appearing in some of the best Pokémon games of all time, it’s hard to find anything cute about this trash heap Pokémon.

3. Dracovish

Dracovish is up next, and he could be one of the best dragon Pokémon if he wasn’t so ugly.

This hideous creature is created by combining a Fossilised Fish with a Fossilized Drake, and it was introduced in Generation VIII.

As one of the ugliest Pokémon, Dracovish has the head of a fossil fish and the legs and tail of a dino fossil.

Said to be a powerful predator during its prime, this water/dragon type Pokémon boasts some powerful legs and snapping jaws.

Unfortunately, it can only breathe underwater, though it can run up to 40 mph when submerged.

In the Pokémon anime TV series, Ash was shown to have a Dracovish, which made its first appearance in episode 50 of Pokémon Journeys.

While Ash seemed impressed by this Pokémon, we feel much more unsettled, especially given its beady little eyes.

This is not the type of Pokémon you’d want to meet in a dark alley, or ever, to be honest, because it’s really the stuff of nightmares.

2. Probopass

Where do we even start with this Pokémon? Probopass is by far one of the weirdest-looking creatures to ever exist in the Pokémon universe.

Introduced in Generation IV, Probopass evolves from Nosepass when leveled up in a magnetic field or exposed to a Thunder Stone.

This rock/steel Pokémon looks like an exaggerated moai statue with beady eyes and a gigantic red magnetic nose.

It also has a bushy back mustache made from iron sand that honestly looks more like a bunch of nose hair than anything else.

Probopass also has three mini-noses on its body and a large circular red magnet on its head that acts like a hat.

Using its disturbing mini-noses, Probopass can catch prey and attack enemies from all directions, though sometimes these noses can get lost.

This Pokémon also can radiate a strong magnetic field that it can use to levitate or destroy surrounding appliances.

While Probopass appears in many games, the last one he showed up in was Legends: Arceus, where he continued creeping out players.

1. Jynx

Taking our number one spot is the creature known as Jynx, which resembles a purple thumb wearing a gaudy blonde wig.

Evolving from Smoochum at level 30, Jynx is an ice/psychic type Pokémon that will forever haunt our nightmares.

This humanoid Pokémon has long arms, purple skin, large harrowing eyes, and a perpetually puckered mouth.

It is always seen wearing a red dress with two golden circles on the chest, and while it has feet, they are rarely seen.

What’s more, is that this Pokémon has a language that sounds similar to human speech, and it is also known for crying.

However, it prefers to communicate through a series of dance-like movements that often compel those watching to join in.

Jynx has been frightening players since Generation I with her hideous features, and we suspect we’ll be seeing much more of her in the future!
