What is Strong Against Grass Type Pokemon ? Grass Type Pokémon Weaknesses And Strengths

What is strong against grass type pokemon ? Battling against grass Pokemon can be a bit thorny if you’re not prepared! Many grass Pokemon are blessed with numerous status-inducing and life-leeching attacks to watch out for. Sleep powder, leech seed and giga drain are just a few grass type favorites!

Despite the unique battle strategies that many grass Pokemon use, grass typing is considered one of the weakest in the game. It has 5 weaknesses and 7 different types resist grass attacks

Pokémon also has its own set of weaknesses and strengths. For example, bug-type Pokémon are weak against fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves. Bug-type moves are strong against dark-, grass-, and psychic-type moves. Fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves will do double damage against a bug-type, like Caterpie.

Some Pokémon have two types, which means they can have a doubled weakness or have their strength and weaknesses cancel out to just take normal damage. Rayquaza, a dragon- and flying-type, takes four times the damage from ice-type moves. On the flip side, Shuckle, a rock- and bug-type, takes normal damage from fire-type moves, since rock-type is strong against fire-type.

Strengths and weaknesses also aren’t necessarily just opposites of each other. Though fire-type move deal less damage to water-type Pokémon and water-type moves do doubled damage against fire-type Pokémon, this isn’t the case with every type. For example, fighting-type moves are strong against normal-types, but normal-types just do regular damage against fighting-types, rather than do reduced damage.

Knowing what Pokémon’s strengths and weaknesses are is an important aspect of raiding and battling. To do the most damage you can, you should make sure that your Pokémon’s moves are strong against what it’s battling.

All grass-type weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Ever since the very first Pokémon title that was released back in the late 1990’s, the grass-type Pokémon have been mainstays in many players’ collections and teams that they use in battle. And that is no different in the newest generation of Pokémon games with the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for the Nintendo Switch.

Just like in every previous mainline game, picking a starter Pokémon is the first step on any trainer’s journey and out of the three possible selections, one is always going to be a grass-type. But are grass-type Pokémon strong and what are they weak against?

This is the natural counter to grass in the real world and in the Pokémon series. Fire-type moves are super effective against grass-type Pokémon and have been from the very beginning of the series.

It’s important to note that a Pokémon doesn’t have to be a fire-type to be able to learn fire-type moves. But normally, trainers will need to watch out for fire-type Pokémon and the most common one players will run into is the fire-type starter which in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is Fuecoco.

A natural predator to grass in real life and in the game, bug-type moves are also super effective against grass-type Pokémon. One of the strong bug-type Pokémon players will run into in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is Lokix, which actually can be found very early on in the game.

Flying-type Pokémon are also super effective against grass-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There are a few flying-type Pokémon to be wary of in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with newcomers like Bombardier and Kilowatteral. But there are also Pokémon like Talonflame, Braviary, and Staraptor to watch out for too. Flying Pokémon are luckily easy to avoid since they are in the air instead of hidden in the grass.

Poison is the fourth different type that’s be super effective against grass-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There aren’t a ton of notable poison-type Pokémon early on in the game but the good ones show up in the mid to late game. Be wary of Toxtricity, Clodsire, and Grafaifai.

And finally, there is the ice-type. This is the only type that doesn’t completely shut down grass-type Pokémon. That’s because, unlike the four other types, ice-type moves are super effective against grass-type Pokémon but grass-type moves still do normal damage to it.

The other four types only take half damage from grass-type moves which makes ice-type moves good against grass-type Pokémon but not necessarily ice-type Pokémon. So instead of being scared of ice-type Pokémon, players should look out for ice-type moves like Ice Fang and Ice Beam.

What Is a Grass Type Pokemon?

Grass Type Pokemon are categorized as some of the weakest Pokemon in the entire series. These Pokemon are the starter Pokemon and, statistically, some of the least chosen as the starting companion.

Their reputation for being so weak comes from the fact that their moves are ineffective against seven types of Pokemons while, at the same time, five types deal super-effective damage against them.

Appearance-wise, these Pokemon are green in color, which resembles grass. They have the ability to control grass, and through that, they can also create whirlwinds which can be super effective against three types of Pokemon.

Best Grass Type Pokemon Weaknesses

As I explained earlier, grass-type Pokemons have the reputation of being some of the weakest Pokemons in the games. These weaknesses are explained below.

First up is Fire-type Pokemon, which can deal effective damage against grass-type Pokemon. These Pokemons can breathe fire, burning the grass-type Pokemons and gaining easy victory.

Similarly, bug-type Pokemon are also very overpowering to grass-type Pokemon. These Pokemons eat grass as a part of their diet; therefore, the grass is weak to bug-type Pokemon.

Poison-type Pokemons in nature can kill grass-type Pokemons as they can poison their adversaries in battle. As grass is organic in the heart, poison can kill it with ease.

Finally, Flying type Pokemons can also greatly damage grass-type Pokemons. Apart from these weaknesses, grass-type moves are super ineffective against all fire, grass, poison, flying, bug, dragon, and steel Pokemon.
